What colors would go good in a lavender bedroom?
Question:I live in a rental and the master bedroom is lavender. We can't paint it so I need ideas on what colors would look good without making it look girly (me & my husband will share the room)
Answers:
Try a moss green--gorgeous with lavender.
Badge, Blues, or greens
Lavender and blue
Lavender and cranberry
The colors that would look good, would have to be the combination of dark, dark purple and grey. Its not girly, but sophisticated you can also use black to make some contrast with the light colored room.
emerald green. bright, cheerful and not to girly. Black and white would look good also, silouhette pictures, black and green and white spread and splashes of those colors in throws and chair covers etc.
The only thing I can think of to keep it from being girlie is black.
Not much goes with lavender.
Black and lavender might come out looking pretty chic...or not, but it's the best I could think of.
Good luck.
I would think dark purple and gray would look nice. However, that'll give it a cooler feel. To give it warmth, try dark chocolate browns and earthy leaf greens.
I think white and black will go best without making it look girly.(for more of a modern look) Maybe reds, yellows, and oranges to have more fun with.
green goes good with lavender. so you can see go to a storeand look at the towels and you will see how it looks.
lavendar, black and white. And as long as the furniture is bold enough the paint color shouldn't make it too girlie.
I too have a lavender room in my home and I have it decorated with soft gold, bronze and white, it looks warm and tropical. You could also try doing a darker shade of purple and dark brown which would definitely make it more masculine and contemporary.
I would choose sage green and cream. Try to pick a comforter set with sage and cream, maybe an abstract print, that way it won't be girly. Then i would choose the lavender color on the walls for a nice throw and accent pillows and curtains as well...that will make the room look larger if the curtains are the same color as the walls. I did my friends bedroom just like this and it is beautiful. Also, a nice throw rug with the same colors would be nice too. If you have shelves or a bookcase paint them cream, to help lighten the room up. Good luck...I wish I could help you do it....I LOVE DECORATING!!!
hmm i would say chocolate browns, nuetrals, and beiges. Also mossy green and even silver. try adding your accent colors using pillows then if you don't like them easy to take of bed, move around or take back to the store for other colors. try pier one, they have a great selection of pillows and target too!! i would bring in the silver with crome vases, sconces and wall art!! good luck let us know how it works out!!
I have a lavender room and I offset it with Chocolate Browns, Camels, Maroons and Beiges. I love those color combos but that's just my opinion.
Green apple, that light spring green color is really cool with lavender and will make it more manly but fresh. You can also use some undertones of beige to make the bright green "pop" more and temper down the lavender. Go to the hardware store and check out the paint chips and you'll see what i mean.
Try using the green in the curtains, the comforter, a throw rug on the floor or on top of the carpet that you may already have.
It's an awesome combination...
Any shade of grey. Decorator pillows in geometric patterns with grey, lavender and a third color.
I would suggest some black; due to the fact that you share the room with a male. Bring in a comforter that will have black, lavender and maybe some white in it and put some white curtain shears up. The other option you have is lavendar goes very well with green, mostly a mint green. Then accessorize around one item that will work with the room.
Hope it works!
i would use ivory/tan and like a mocha brown.
