I have light blue walls and red covers and a red fold out chair. I have a wooden desk and a dresser that's paintable! I want to make cubbies in white wood to fit fabric cube drawers in and that I want to go under my 2 windown and on top of 2 of my walls along the ceiling. I have a queen size bed. Hop that helps. ( My rooms prtty big.)
I don't want to spend a ton of money!

Hi, "Spirit". Try throw pillows. All sizes, all materials, colors, patterns. Whatever you like. They are relatively inexpensive, and they are easily storable. Also fabric. Material can be sheets, yardgoods, Tablecloths, placemats,-whatever. Drape it across the windows for a swag/scarf. Hang/tack it in front of the glass for privacy or a different hue to your room itself.Color and or pattern in a lightweight fabric over the windows (glass)can change the look/feel of a room dramatically. Really. }:> Hang it on a wall. Frame it. Cover the bed with it as a throw or spread. Also buy or make slipcovers. If you have a sheet or piece of material you like that is the right size, or can become the right size with folding, sewing, cutting, etc., slipcovering can be very simple. Do you have a headboard for your bed? You can cover it too. (you can pad it, and THEN cover it!) You can put fabric or contact paper or wallpaper the width of the bed (and any height you like) on the wall behind the bed, and it leaves the "impression" of a headboard. Loosely drape material over the bed & tacked to the ceiling as a canopy. And of course, (I'm sure you've thought of this) pictures and posters. They also go up and come down easily. Stencils and cutouts, applied to any/everything are simple and changeable. Throw rug or rugs. Straw, cotton, etc. Again; whatever you like. (Maybe the linen closet in your home is a good place to look.) Once you get started, you'll have no trouble thinking of things much better than I can suggest, I'm sure! Have fun! -Oh- The various websites are a good source of suggestions. Paint? (Not the room; something in it or brought into it.) This is a great time of year for this, 'cause so much is out there, and it's less expensive this time of year, because it's geared toward summer, not a permanent thing. And Just about anything can become decorative if you'd like it to be. And mirrors! Big, small, they really can change the dimensions of a space. Go get 'em.
Paint the desk and dresser the same color white as the cubbies. I would try to do a blue and white gingham a little darker than the walls for contrast and red piping to match the covers. Gingham is not necessarily a country thing...but if gingham is not your thing...then use a stripe in the contrasting colors. Goo Luck!!
I would paint the walls a pale grey. What you've got now is red, white and blue.
light blue throw pillows and a red comforter. fit alot of white in to fit these two colors together.
The easiest way to make a room cozy and to add style is to buy an awsome rug. You will be suprised with the difference it can make. If painiting the walls is an option I reccomend a warm earthy tone and deffinatelly steer away from anything bluish or sterile, it will make your room look cold. Dont be afraid to use a darker colour if your room is pretty big, also a feature wall in a different colour or texture is a great and modern idea.
