Will kilz paint cover up vinyl wallpaper so i can paint it?

Question:the wallpaper is white background with fruit on it.

Answers:
Yes, you can paint primer over wall paper so you can paint. Be sure to use an OIL based primer otherwise with a water based primer it will loosen the wall paper and it will peel. You don't want that!

It should. You might need more than one coat, though.
Vinly is very tough to get anything to stick to but it is very easy to remove, use a fingernail to get a corner started and pull it off the wall.
Is it textured or smooth? Some smooth, coated paper doesn't paint well. Test a section first. You can buy Kilz in a small amount or a spray can to test the area. Also be sure that the paper is on very securely or the edges may peel back when paint is applied because of the moisture in the paint. Good Luck with your project.
I would strongly suggest removing the wallpaper first. The paper can slowly peel off or bubble. Then your whole paint job will be ruined and you'll finally have to take it off anyways.

However, if the paper is in good condition and you really don't want to take the time to take it off, you can paint over it. Kilz will block the background and set as a good base for your regular paint.
Kilz may not be necessasary, although I would recommend removing the wallpaper first. Applying the paint might cause the vinyl to bubble up or let loose at the seams.. If your wall was properly prepared for vinyl application, It should be much easier to remove than regular paper wallpaper.. If you dont want to do that... There are some products available at paint stores (ie: Sherwin Williams etc..) that can be used to prep the vinyl for painting. They act as a kind of sealer/glue to keep the vinyl from letting loose when you paint it. We have used this a few times on jobs.. Plus, how long your vinyl has been on the wall could make a difference... If it is fairly new, then the glue will probably hold better.. The older it gets, the more brittle it becomes. I would recommend speaking with a paint store about the product i mentioned if you choose not to remove the vinyl... Hope this helps.

Just tried this last month. In short- no. There is nothing that will paint over wallpaper and not peel off in a few weeks. i know it stinks, but you have to remove the wallpaper first!
I know its a pain but your better off removing the wall paper
