What is the best way to restore an old roll top bath?

Question:There are people who will come and re-enamel it in-situ but I've heard this is a short -term solution and you need it to be taken away and sandblasted for a really good finish. Does anyone have experience of either option?

Answers:
In order for the enamel to work properly, it has to be fired at hight temperatures - not something you can do in situ. You should seek a reputable company who will take it away and re-enamel it properly. There are plenty of companies who will do this for you - try looking at the small ads in any good home interior/diy magazine.

there is a kit at lowe's to re-enamel a tub, i have an old claw tub and i did it my self with this kit and it wasnt hard at all good luck..
there is a company who come to your house and do it for you. try renubath.co.uk or other websites for bath resurfacing if you are not in uk
