I'd use any warm floral colors to wow your rooms. Corals, lavender/purples, burgundys, pinks, greens, golds...you are starting with great neutrals so pick a couple of your favorites from fabrics used in the room or from some artwork and test swatches on your wall then decide!
can u paint walls in this apt? I would go w/ rich colors like golds/ deep reds/ maroon/ deep greens/terra cota.../dusty purples
if u want a bit more punch then navy/grey blue/ lt blue/periwinkle/
there's a lot to go... Look at different stores online & in person. find either pillows or curtain/valance that u really like then go from there to complimet the other accessories.
Go to thrift stores/garage sales/ Big Lots/ Target/Walmart/Bed n Linens/ places like that. Even go to fabric stores & look at the clearance bins ... u can make u'r own pillows by sewing or using STICTH WITCHERY ( ask them) w/ an iron. Then u go from there.
As far as the walls if u can't paint... get canvas's & paint colors on them that u pick out to bring the color up. Or frame material that u find for decor OR even pin up board... Hang it as a tapistry w/ tassles.. or other accessories.
Be creative & have fun!
go to Sherwin Williams web site or store Lowe's home depot they can help you match your furniture and give you ideas about colors
A great way to pick colors is to use the historic section provided by most paint manufacturers, these are great because you don't have to worry about the shade changing every year and looking outdated quickly and they tend to be more saturated and have a very warm, deep look to them.
