I need help with decorating my bedroom?
Question:ok...well i am a teenager..13 and i am getting my room opened up...i will be getting new furniture and new paint and pipllows and basically a total room makeover.i am wondering what kinds of colors would be good for a young teenaged girls room . i was thinking bright colors. also, what kinds of furniture...like a low bed or a high bed with or without a headboard...and how can i organize my room and closet and still make it look fashionable! sorry for the long and hard question...but if you answer this ...THANKS A BUNCH!!!

Hey there. Well, first off, since you're 13, you should pick out things that are cute for a young teenager like yourself, but also things (like furniture) that you can keep to use later on in the future as you get older too. So keep that in mind as you are looking for new things to decorate your bedroom with! For the paint color, something bright like you suggested would be good..like a bright pink, or purple. Everything kind of depends on your style and your budget, but if you look around at different stores or websites for ideas, that would help a lot. I would also suggest hanging cute artwork on the wall, a bulletin board in a bright color on your closet door maybe? And also possibly a couple of cute chairs to pull things together as well, and a desk is always good for organization.

Most def. a head board, Id go with black and hotpink on my walls. but it depends on how much money u have.
i personally like blues, purples, and greens. they all go together. if ur room is pretty big go for a high bed. if not, stick to a low one. my suggestion is having a color scheme for your room, to make it fashionable.

If u have friends over to spend the nite u mite want to get a trundle or daybed or futon so they would have some place to sleep as well.
Depending on what u do u'r room in, u could go w/ black or white furniture or even wood. But if u can, keep it all the same style.
The headboard is u'r choice. I've only had a headboard once in my life. But they r nice for decor or even those ones that have a built in bookcase.
So let's start w/ what colors do u really like? What r u'r favorite & what has BEEN u'r favorite for some time. B/c u won't b able to chg. it for awhile.
I would go w/ them. Here's a thot... think of what colors u like. Look for a bed cover in those colors or close. Then whatever u find, from THAT u pick the colors to put on u'r wall.
Do u want some funk? do u want geometric?
Do u want stripes? Do u want airy? Do u want BOLD? Do u want circles? Do u like retro? Do u like beaches? do u like styling?
Do u like art? What r u'r likes? Then lean towards that for decor on u'r walls & in u'r room for pillows ...throw cushions... pin up boards.. frames... etc
soooo... what is u'r favorite colors? Get a bed cover in those colors or close. Pick out either one or 2 of those colors... Paint u'r walls in either stripes/circles/diamonds/faux finish/ murals/etc... then use the other colors in u'r spread for accents.. like 1 or 2 to make them pop.
Keep u'r furniture all the same style w/ either black/white or wood tone.

I'd love to try this look: paint your walls black (or something really dark) and have all your furniture rainbow, or some other bright color. Or...
You could try a cool and calm room. For instance, the walls would be painted and soft beige. The bedding should be something that isnt bold or bright (try a brown bedding set) And white roller blinds (type of material doesnt matter)
