When re-doing a bathroom, is it best to install new suite before tiles or vice versa?

Question:

Answers:
I dont think it really matters. I asked this exact same question a couple of weeks ago and I had conflicting answers.

In the end I went with the bathroom suite fitting first followed by the tiles.

I am not sure if there is a right or wrong way as different people have different views.

install suite first then everything comes after
suite - then you tile around it - tiles are easier to cut than a bath!
Install bath first - allows to overlap tiles onto bath rim - good seal.

Tile where basin is before fitting - no need for awkward cuts in tiles.
the suite gets installed first and then the rest. :) best of luck
When we had our bathroom done they put the bath in and then tiled. Then the hand baisin and toilet cistern got put in after the tiles. I guess it is a waste to tile behind a bath and really tricky to tile around small things.
install the suite first then do the tiling.
It depends what you have most confidence doing, cutting tiles or drilling through them?
I think it is better to tile around a bath or shower but place the toilet on top of the tiles or it might look strange. Think about how it will look with tile around it and then sitting on the tile. But to each his(or her) own.
unless you are going for a free standing bath and want to tile behind then you will need to tile first
Tile first, then install the suite. This will be easier than trying to cut the tiles to fit nicely around the suite, it will also eliminate the use of caulking around the suite. Drill holes for the bolts using a drill bit made specifically for tile. If you tile after you will have a sunk in look and it will be very hard to remove the suite if you need too.

If tiling around the tub install it first then tile. Trying to get a tub into it's space after will be extremely difficult and will scratch and crack the tile. Tubs are made to fit a specific area. Tiling first will make the opening smaller and the tub won't fit.
hi,I've just done my bathroom, with tiles, from floor to the ceiling and i found that this time it was much easier to tile first,as you don't have to make those awkward cut, and looks a lot better, and you will find that your fittings will look better, and the beauty is you that if you want to you only need to tile up to the new fitting, and leave the rest of the tiling till after ,i found this the best way .hope that i have been sum help to you, have a nice day john
suite before the tiles, tiles before the emulsion, emulsion before the gloss, gloss before the acessories.
We have just finished tiling my mothers bathroom and we wished the Bathroom Suite hadn`t been there it would have made our job much easier
Definitely all installations, plumbing, built in cupboards etc before you tile and decorate.
