What color do I paint my living room if I have...?

Question:...blue and white sofa, dishes. I collect blue and white china, and want my living room to reflect that. I thought of painting it a hint of blue or white. (No taupe or beige please).
Which color (pale blue or white) would make the collection of blue and white dishes and furniture pop more?

Answers:
A very pale blue would go well, or maybe a subdued peach.

blue with a white trim would look nice
Why not just paint one wall with an accent color? In other words, one wall be painted pale blue, and the others white?
well since you have almost everything white and blue in the living room, then you should paint your living room light blue .i think that color would match perfectly
Too much blue and white seems well...overdone! I suggest you should take a look at the color wheel. every color has a complimentary color which allows it to "pop". Blue's complimentary color is orange. Im not talking BRIGHT orange, but a subtle hue so that it allows the blue and white china to pop off the walls. Heres a link explaining about complimentary colors. try different variations of orange on a test strip next to the plates to see which one you prefer.
purple looking blue
I would go to a WalMart, Home Depot, Lowe's--one of those places that carry a whole line of paint. They always have those little cards with a color shade, and then will tell you complimentary colors--usually about 3 other shades. This will give you a variety of colors which will make your furniture and dishes stand out, and you can choose the one which you like best.
well..you can do white and blue stripes, white with blue pocka dots, sky blue or u can have white walls with blue carpet
You seem to have a great taste already and great knowledge of what you want to do so go with it. My 2 cents is a very light sky blue would be beautiful. Check with your local hardware store for they can mix colors that may accent your blue and white china very nicely.
I'd actually go for a subtle yellow or a warm colour to make the blue & white pop. Go to Home Depot or Lowes or wherever and get some samples and try it out.

Have fun experimenting with different colours - you'll be surprised at what may work. I also suggest getting a colour wheel so you can see what colour complements blue.
I have been a painter for 6 years and I currently work @ Dunn Edwards Paint store. Do not choose your wall colors based on your personal palette preference. A nice buttery yellow would work. You want to show case your china not have it blend in to the wall. If you go yellow go so light it is almost white as it darkens on the walls. Pick a color that will make your china pop. Go to your local paint store and pick put a few colors you like. Ask for quart size cans. Go home and put a swipe of each on your wall in question. Wait a day so you can see them in various stages of the day as sunlight changes the look throughout the day. Remember branch out, get a nice contrasting color. You wont be disappointed. Good luck
Off white and add color with cushions, wall hangings, pictures, this makes the room easier to change, sounds like you need to add color, it would look off if you just focused on the blue and white china, by doing this the china will have a focus, but will not dominate the room
yellow. a crisp, clean buttery yellow with high gloss white trim.
checking the color wheel is a good idea. go to any art supply store to get one. i bet yellow will show as very complementary.
most definately blue...
A light creamy yellow would make the room POP! If you go with a blue or white, it will look blah and everything will disappear. Go with a shiny white for the trim/woodwork.
I do not like neutral colors. Show some personality and go with a color.

Good luck!
