Is there a technical reason for painting a residential garage floor verus just better looking floor?

Question:My garage is subject to only normal wear and tear of car tires and light foot traffic. Is there any reason to paint it? It is a smooth polished concrete floor with a 10 year old coat of paint on it now which is wearing off.

Answers:
Painting the floor has 2 purposes:

1) as you stated it looks nicer

2) painting it also protects the concrete from stains, such as grease, oil, tire tracks, etc.

I hope this helped. Good luck and God bless!

Olympic garage floor paint is an excellent coating. The benefit other than good looks is it adds a protective coating. Cleaning up oil spills, or other nasties are made easy.
