I am recovering some old lamp shades. I need to glue the fabric to the top of the metal shade.?

Question:What kind of glue can I use that will not stain the fabric and will hold?

Answers:
Alene's Glues work great. The company has many made specifically for fabric and are available at most fabric and craft stores. My favorite one is Alene's Okay To Wash It, made for fabrics and dries clear. Use clothes pins to hold it in place but put little strips of waxed paper between the clothes pins and fabric otherwise you'll be gluing the clothes pins to the lamp shade! You could also use a spray adhesive or a hot glue gun, many people do, but to me it would be more cumbersome to work with.
