Has anyone ever used an EPROXY on their Garage Floor and if you have, which one? Would you recommend it?

Hi Guppy,

First things first, are you fixing a crack, a hole or something else.
And is the surface cement ?

If you are fixing a crack (small or med), it might be a better idea to use cement base to seal the crack up. EPROXY is strong but not that strong if not sealed under pressure, in cracks, putting EPROXY in has hardly any pressure on it.

For Holes (Small) if you still have the piece which had fallen off, then it might be a good idea to put EPROXY (Meant for sealing cement, there are many kinds) on the bottom surface of the piece that have broken off and put some in the hole. Then place the broken piece into the hole and put something heavy on it to apply pressure to it.

This is good for small situations, for the big holes or cracks, it would be better to get an professional or tradesman who have experience in it to do that.

Take a photo of the problem, send it to them, ask them for a quote.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: I agree with Gaz too. Great advice.

GREAT IDEA BUT MAKE SURE JUST BEFORE IT DRYS SHAKE A LITTLE SAND OVER IT ALL IT REALLY LOOKS GOOD AND IS AN ANTY-SLIP ALSO
Hi,
I used an epoxy resin on the entire ground floor of our house, bedrooms and all. I must say.. it scratches up quite quickly with teenage boys using it like a skatepark!

We put a polyurethane over the top of it to get a bit more protection... but it didn't help it much. Once the scratching settles in it looks really good but with signiificantly less gloss than new by reason of the fine scratches.

It is very resilient otherwise so I have no problem recommending it as a finish for your garage.

Now.. a word of warning... you shouldn't attempt the application yourself. As a resin, it is self levelling .. but it is very very easy to entrap air bubbles in it and these really will blemish the finished job and risk delamination of the epoxy from the substrata concrete. The applicator has special shoes that have like nails on the bottom of them to try and burst the air bubbles (true!) Also, it is very easy to get dust trapped in it before it sets solid. Finally the priming part is also tricky... you need to make sure that the slab has no dust at all. . So if you pay a professional.. you can get them back to repair it... but if you do it yourself... you are stuck with fixing it yourself or stuck with the defect.

I don't think brands are particularly important. Selecting a good applicator is.
