I'm remodeling my kitchen. Thinking black or stainless. Do all appliances need to be same?

Having all the same color will give a coordinated look, especially if the appliances are next to each other. Too many black appliances in a small kitchen will make the room seem smaller. I don't really think it matters though.

If you want your kitchen to look like you put thought into it and have a cohesive look, it's better to have them all the same. The only appliance that I have seen that doesn't match perfectly and looks good is when the dishwasher is black. The reason I say this is that I have seen refrigerators that are stainless steel on the front only with black on the sides and a stove that combines stainless steel with black on it.
