Flagpole into brick?

Question:I'm trying to install a flagpole into the brick siding on my house. I purchased some screws that are specifically designed to go into brick, but they aren't working. Instead of going into the brick, they seem to just bore a hole on the surface.

Is there any better way to mount a flagpole onto brick siding? Please help, I can't wait to show my patriotic colors today. Thank-you, and Happy Fourth of July!!

Answers:
Jack is right on track..although you might have to use "lead jackets" instead of plastic wall anchors. I have had the plastics work loose. Also it is better to drill into the mortar between brick instead of the brick surface if possible. If not
brick face is OK...

Don't mount it on the brick, use a facial, trim board, column, anything but the brick.
drill holes with a carbide bit, put in plastic plugs, install. home depot is open today.
