When your redecorating a house...?

Question:hi, my mom and dad are redecorating our new second hand house and there are tiles on the wall. they want to get new kitchen cabinets mounted on the walls and also replace the tiles. what is the correct order of things to do. is it either:

1: Replace the tiles then put the new cabinets on over the new tiles.

or

2: Put the new cabinets on first then put new tiles around the new cabinets.

i need to know A.S.A.P, thanks. there will be 10 points up for grabs for the person who gives the best answer. THANKS!

Answers:
Pick out cabinets, tile, paint, wallpaper, crown molding, curtains, etc., beforehand for color and texture.

Use cabinets of a wood or color that will not indicate the age of the home, say in 15-20 years.

Place the cabinets so that there is room underneath to put the tile you want along with the grout inbetween.

I like the whole wall under the cabinet to be tiled in a naturally mottled slate gray or beige so as to serve as a backwall for spills, spatters, etc. In the least, behind the stove/cooktop. The color will not show the dirt. If they have something in mind they love, use the line of this tile inbetween the larger slabs or directly under the cabinet. This line of tile will bring the eye "up."

The larger slabs of tile should be matching the floor.

I can't see doing all of this and not replacing the countertop unless they are finding matching colors. There are some awesome countertop materials on the market.

Hang lights, can opener, radio, etc. mounted under the cabinets to save counter space. A strip light will aid cooking and also open up the area making it look cheery and larger.

There is so much out there to choose from, it's fun to look and shop. Just get all pieces of the puzzle together so everything works together to get the atmosphere they want.

Cabinets first, tile afterward.

Cabinets go in first, then the tile. (You cannot re-tile over tile, the old tile must come off, old grout, etc).
Remove the old top cabinets, then strip the tile. You may need to do quite a bit of cleaning and sanding. When this is complete, remove the base cabinets. Then the countertop and sink (if that is in the plan).

Hang new cabinets, starting with base cabinets, then countertop/sink, then top cabinets, cover the new countertop, then do the tile work, and last, do the counter backsplash.
I WOULD PUT THE CABINETS UP FIRST AND THEN THE TILES WE JUST WENT THROUGH THIS ABOUT THREE YRS AGO AND AGAIN ABOUT 6 MOS AGO DEFIANTLY TILES GOES UP LAST IF YOU MIGHT CHANGE YOUR MIND AS MUCH AS WE DID
remove the old tiles - hang the new cabinets-
then do the new tiles
We've done two kitchens and each time we ripped out the prior homeowners stuff. The cabinets went up first, then the tile.
