How do i stop the cement staining honister slate while laying a path? Or infact will it stain at all??

Question:

Answers:
Cement ALWAYS stains cover slates with paper. If staining occurs use "Brick Clean" hydrochloric acid diluted somewhat.

put lining paper down first stuck in place using Duct tape..?
buy a sealent most tile stockists sell it
Use a good quality sealant before commencing. I prefer Lithofin MN stainstop. Any excess residue can be removed with cement residue remover, but I would say to test a loose piece first to make sure it doesn't react adversely with the slate, dilute it down if required.
