I hate my new house?
Question:i moved into my new house a month ago with an acquaintance. i need help on the following please:
1. i hate my apartment-mate. according to her, all my stuff is to be shared, but her stuff is strictly hers. she has even twisted things with the landlords in her favour.
2. my room is bare, with only a builtin cupboard and a bed. i want it to look nice and homely, but i have barely any money.
HELP!

Putting pictures up on the walls will make the room look homely in an instant. You can also buy curtains from charity shops if there aren't any in the room already. If you don't have pictures already and can't afford to buy art prints, get some of your favourite photos enlarged and buy cheap frames for them.
Or failing that, you could leave while you're still able - with a flatmate like that, you might be doing time for murder before too long!!
Edit: you can get hooks that don't damage walls - they peel off afterwards.
It takes alot of cooperation when you live with another person. It seems that one month isn't enough time for you to adjust to each other. Tell her how you feel about things, sit down, work it out, if you can. Give yourself some space from her, your own time with your own friends. You don't need to be constantly sticking close with this other person even when you're home.
Check out resale or charity stores for things for your room. Garage sales are a great source, too. Add a few things at a time, decide what theme you want to go with and then go out hunting for them. It will be fun to see what you can find.
