How to avoid dust inside wardrobe if we use sliding wardrobe doors?

Question:Our master bedroom is not very big, and we want to save space by using sliding wardrobe doors. However someone told me that dust gets in easily in such cases. Does anyone know any way we can avoid dust getting into the wardrobe through the gaps between the sliding doors?

Answers:
We live in a very dusty canyon and have sliding wardrobe doors on all of our closets and a walk in closet in which we rarely close the entry door. I keep all of my clothing (Except leather and suede) in dry cleaning bags to protect them from the dust. Leather and suede are kept in cloth garment bags. Shoes are kept in boxes labeled with the contents and purses in their sleeper bags or felt bags I make myself. We do have a little problem with belts and my hubby's ties both of which are on hanging organizers mounted to the wall, but we vacuum them often with the brush attachment to keep dust from accumulating. There really isn't a way to keep the dust from entering but you can protect your valuable clothing and garments from the damage it causes. I purchased a roll of dry cleaning bags from my dry cleaner over 5 years ago and haven't used them all up yet, not even close.

Dust is very sneaky, and I've seen it get into places that I didn't think were possible.

You're probably going to have to dust inside your wardrobe once in a while.
