Tough one. First - is it slab or an older cinder bock?
Its not an easy job, though many sell an "easy" solution, like the bogus "interior" fix only. These simply band aid the problem and dont truly fix it.
The best way is to dig out the external wall - apply a common sealant (lots out there) and a weather wrap for the area. Always cover more area than is cracked. , like a 5 foot by 10 foot application. More is better.
If you have alot of slab cracks and or cinder block cracks - get out the checkbook - and have a professional do it. They will need to jack up that portion of the house and worse case scenario - do several walls.
Check your homeowners insurance for relief and it could provide a nice tax break for home improvement. Plus - it will be in code and maintain the value of your investment (house) if you own it and eventually look to sell it. Plus its the safest and best solution.
If its because of a water coming in, then the only way is to repair it from the outside. did up the foundation and coat the wall with waterproofing material. Any inside plugging will only force the water to the next spot.(that you may not even see). if its just a dry crack that doesnt leak, widen it like a dovetail (thinner outside opening and wider inside crack) then use hydraulic cement, or siilcon for cement
