Please help! my babys bedroom has a water heater in the corner.?

Question:...and its right in the corner of the walk-in closet. what would be an ideas for a pretty, tall, decorative piece to put up infront of it so that first of all she will be safe when she starts walking and second of all blocks the ugly thing?

Answers:
make the hinged door style enclosure from lattice and decorate it with silk flowers and leaves and add those glittery fabric type butterflies. Carry the lattice as a fence around the room and turn the whole bedroom in a garden theme?

I would make a wooden structure for it or have one made to fit over it. then paint it a base color, and have your baby's handprints all over it or some other design! how cute!♥
I would have someone make a custom piece. Maybe with just some 2x4s and plywood you could build a screen. Then paint the screen really nice, maybe put some pictures on it. This would totally block it out and you could still get to it if need be.

Good luck.
I hate considering the proximity of this heater to your sleeping child!! But if you have no options: Consider building a simple box frame with plastic lattice. The hot water heater needs air circulation and proper ventilation. The lattice will allow air movement and can easily be decorated or used to hang outfits. You could also string fake ivy through it.
you should get one of those big trifold picture frames.. they're cute and she can look at herself!
This one is fairly easy. Construct a 2 x 3 or 2 x 4 wall at the front of it, leave an opening for either a door or an access panel. Make sure that either the door or access panel is wider and taller than the HW heater in case you have to replace it or service it. Install drywall, tape/spackle/finish it then paint it. This will work fine if your HW heater is an electric one. If it's a gas-fired HW heater, many local codes will require that you install 5/8" type "X" drywall (fire resistant drywall) on the inside of the wall. If it's electric, no interior covering would be required. If you have further questions, drop me a line at keyboard.king@yahoo.com
Your water heater needs to be well ventilated. Don't enclose it entirely.
A $50 or $100 solution would be a hinged room divider, you can find them used on craigslist.com or used furniture stores. to make it sturdy for when your little one starts crawling around, secure each side to the wall. You can paint or put fabric over it and it would look fabulous.
