Where can i find a list of everything i may need to stock/furnish a new home?
Question:i am moving into a new home, and pretty much starting from scratch...i would like to find a list of stuff i would need (broken down by room) for my new house...
i.e.
bathroom:
shower curtain
shower curtain rod
shower curtain rings
towels
washcloths
hand towels
toothbrush holder...
any ideas?

First, organize your list by room (because room usually equals function).
Also, hit Big Lots, Target, K-Mart for temporary items, but only what is necessary.
Kohls often has sets for start-up kitchens as does Linens/Things.
As far as furniture. I'd rent minimum furniture for a minimum period of time as I determine the style and themes I want.
Look for a designer who does strickly consultation and have him/her do a color plan and style plan for you. The money will be well spent because you will avoid making costly mistakes.
Remember, you want to "furnish forward" that is, furnish with an eye to what you see the future holding: how long you will be there, where your next location may be.
Fewer pieces of good quality is key.
Please Please Please do not buy the "3 pieces for $499" sofas. They are poor quality and often oversized for any room.
Look at the ads, surf the net, Check out Southland Furniture.
Take your time. Allow yourself the joy of discovering your style.
Your objective should always be to buy the best quality you can afford in any item in a style you appreciate because you can use it for a very long time.
Ikea furniture has its place, but usually it is not a long-term investment.
Oh, I forgot... Steinmart has great deals on towels and linens as does Home Goods.
