Which sheets will accomplish my son's desired dorm look?
Question:Hi guys,
My son is starting at Dartmouth in the Fall and he wants to have a preppy look for his dorm room. He isn't sure which sheets to choose, and frankly, neither am I. The two sets are from Nautica, and they are both very nice. What do you guys think will accomplish the preppy look best?
The two sheet sets are:
1. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.
and
2. http://www.lnt.com/product/index.jsp?pro...
Thanks.

I'd go with number 1 if you're going preppy. They're also more masculine preppy than the plaid, which always tends to make me think countryish style... The stripes will also be easier to match as far as accessories go, which is a plus.
Congratulations to your son! And to you too...! He didn't get there on his own...!
either, I would pick number one tho..
also try Target..they have good dorm styles for a low price, as does sears...I would let him pick which ever he really likes
will he have a dorm mate? does he know his dornmate if he does...all of his efforts need to work with whatever his dorm mate wants also..and I have seen kids get put with someone totally opposite of them as far as style goes.some kids like to wait until they get to the college to meet there room mate and then go shopping for decor
out of the 2. #1. it's closer to preppy than plaids.. which is closer to nautical or country
I think both are nice. I would choose the first as its a bit less pigeon holed than plaid and will cover stains/dirt better also choose for quality and closeness of stiching-my son would appriciate that. Check out PBteens site-great visuals to get ideas. What about those photo posters of rock climbers, sailors etc with cool quotes? Look on art.com. They are inspiration saying for work and life etc.
I love the stripe. Ive seen plaid and it is played out and not new. The stripe is new, preppy and conservative. Love it. Go with the stripe.
I have to agree with everyone else. The striped one looks preppier than the plaid. Plaid always makes me think of country style, not preppy.
The stripes strike me as something a preppy college kid would have on his bed. :-)
