Question:Can someone tell me what the average cost per sq. foot that home builders are charging in the lufkin texas area? With the housing slump going on, I am just curious if prices are going down.

I do not know what they are in TX but consider yourself lucky you are not in California. Just finished a house in the Napa Valley at over $500 / sq ft.
You can go to the website of any builder, and it will have that info. If they don't have a site, just call. They are more than happy to tell you bc in Tx its very competitive. The housing market is NOT in a slump in the San Antonio area. New houses are being built on every piece of green area around. Soon it will be nothing but concrete as far as the eye can see. Oh wait! Thats already happened here. LOL
