Are bathroom basin mixer taps and bidet mixer taps the same?

Question:i'm fitting a new bathroom but want matching taps all round. was wondering if the taps are one and the same.

Answers:
Not quite. Bidet taps have a flexible spout so that you can aim the spray !!! but if you have a single hole basin tap going spare it will fit on the bidet as the holes are the same size. Bidets should have non return valves in the pipework.

usually, yes.
They should be. Measure the centre to centre of the holes on the Bidet and that is the size of mixer tap you want so you can then go to B&Q etc. and measure their stock, although they should be a standard size. Just make sure that the mixer handle isn't to long otherwise you could have a nasty accident.
no bidet taps have have a nozzle that lets you alter the direction of the water
