Any one ever use DirectBuy. Good? / Bad?

They charge thousands to join. If you are going to spend tens of thousands on products they stock then it could be worth it.
A couple friends went on a tour with a free pass and were told if they did not join right then and there they could not come back for 5 years.
They wanted close to $5,000 for membership.
My friends were shopping for all new flooring and spending that kind of money just to be a member did not make sense.

We went to a direct buy branch thinking it would be a wholesale building supply outlet (along the lines of lumber liquidators etc)... They almost escorted us out because we did not have an appointment and they said that when we did get said appointment we would have to make a decision on the spot or they would never talk to us again... major RED FLAG... also later we found out that you have to pay thousands to join upfront before getting any benefit... another major RED FLAG...
