Try a Arts and Crafts store like
Michaels
Hobby Lobby
Joanns
I know they have a wide selection of candles! Maybe call ahead of time and ask if they have the right ones you are looking for!
PS...I dont think fool coloring will dry properly on a candle and I would risk getting it on everything!
Good Luck!
hi
used food color to tint them
take them back and buy new ones.
Just go out and buy some cream colored candles. Don't use red.
If you spray paint them you will have nothing but a big mess on your hands! Not sure where you live but I am a candle phanatic and there are beautiful dark red candles everywhere! Do you happen to live near an Excerd Drug Store ( not sure of spelling!) My daughter finds all colors there all the time!
In most areas there is somebody that makes candles. Why not take them back and get with the person who makes them in your area and have them make some the exact color you want. Check your phone book for candles.
I wouldn't use spay paint. If you light the candles, they may catch the paint on fire. If you can, return them and find something else. If you can't return them, then perhaps get other candles for the centerpiece that compliments that color. Several different color "red" candles all mixed together would look cool!
Don't panic. Can you take them back? That would be the best thing to do. I don't know when your wedding is, but if it's coming up right away do you have a friend/relative that you can delegate this task to? You could give her a swatch of fabric to match the candles to as closely as possible. I know you want everything to be perfect but the most important thing is your vows. Everything else is secondary and everything will be okay.
Buy a wide red ribbon and wrap it around the candles. Attach with a glue gun. You can probably get a few rolls on sale at a fabric or craft store.
DON'T use spray paint! The result will not be what you are looking for and there is a chance the paint will catch on fire when lit and dispurse toxic fumes into the air.
If you can return the candles that is what I would recommend.
An alternative to your problem would be to purchase cream colored candles and wrap the bottoms in a wide ribbon. This way you can pick exactly the shade of red you want and get both the cream and red.
I don't know how close your wedding is but I would recommend checking out the website below. I have used them for parties and a couple of baby showers. They can make anything you need within reason. They can send you pics and all before you order so you can be sure they are what you need. They are really awesome about making things just the way you want. They also are priced VERY reasonably (another main reason I stick with them).
