Need kitchen appliances - should I follow the Stainless trend?
Question:I'm skeptical about spending alot of $$ on ss appliances because they have been "trendy" now for several years. I do like the look, but are they hard to keep looking new? My gut tells me to stick with white - what do others think?

The ss look is kinda played out. If you're thinking of selling in the foreseeable future, go with white. If you're staying put, go with whatever turns you on.

You're probably a busy person and don't you like a low maintenance house? Stainless is a pain to keep clean. It shows every finger print. Follow your gut on this one.

Kind of a hard call not knowing what your finances are. I watch a lot of HGTV and make the rounds of the new homes. Right now it seems as though everything is stainless and I would go with that if you are financially comfortable and you have a more upscale home. I would not go overboard if I had an average or below average home for the area. Also how long do you plan on living in this home. Stainless has been around for awhile and you are right in that it may not be hot 5 -10 years from now. Let your wallet be your guide and stay within your means. Good luck.
I have all stainless steel in my kitchen and I love the to betsy, but they are soooo hard to keep clean. depends on how much time (or how much you are willing) to spend cleaning your appliances. short of wearing gloves all the time, you'll have fingerprints show up every day!
