We are putting down porcelain tile in our bathroom, but under the two layers of linoleum there is black,?

Question:I'm guessing adhesive, and it bled through the linoleum when it was there...so, is there a chance it would show through the tile? It isn't raised it seems like it has absorbed into the concrete. I'm not wanting to put down wonderboard, I would prefer to install directly onto concrete. Any suggestions?

Answers:
It shouldnt be a problem if the tile is properly grouted and sealed but to be on the safe side, I would scrape up as much of the adhesive as possible before installing the new tile.

This sounds to me like Mold. If it is you really need to get it taken care of, and it could very well be from the floor being wet before. I had this happen in my Kitchen, we had a water pipe break and got the floor wet, we mopped up the water but there was some that seeped through the lanolium and soaked in. I am 99 % sure what you are seeing is Mold. It can be a big problem, but there is stuff you can spray on it to kill it before you lay your new flooring. Otherwise it could affect the new floor too. good luck.
