What material do i use to build my patio?

Question:i have a 8x 10 peice of my yard that i would like to put a patio on. the only problem is that it retains water no matter which way i slope it. if its level or sloped either way it holds water. what should i do about the water and what material should i use to build my pation i was thinking either concrete or paver. your suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

First you can call a contractor and regrade your yard but not knowing the lay out or how much you want to spend I'll call it a personal choice. Another choice is to bring fill in to elevate the 8x10 area but you would shift the water to another spot. I think pavers are out in a watery location. My personal choice for this problem would be to build an elevated deck on concrete piers out of composite board which is impervious to everything.About the water I would try to drain it to a lower point in the yard through pipe if possible or try French drains ufortunately a contractor would be needed and its expensive. Sorry there is no easy fix.
