What is the most economical yet best way to get an instant shade ?

Question:My house is facing West / East. It gets direct sun all day and it gets really hot, especially my bed room where my office is. I do not want to have to build a large screened swimming pool or enclosure since it would cost TONS of money. What would be the next best thing to do? If I planted some kind of trees, that would block the windows, and doors, etc. I am in Central Florida living in Wood frame home which means I do not want to plant anything close to my home for termite threat even it is being treated. Window Screen or film will only block the view, besides film looks so red necky. Any intelligent idea?

Answers:
The older technology window films do look red necky , as you said. Mirror look like tin foil.

The nano ceramic and Vista films are low or non reflective. Take the Huper 40 or Huper 50. These films are virtually invisible, wide width and takes the heat gain down plus 70%. Knocks down the glare as well by 60-70%

No metals, no shine. .

try an awning, or retractable awning, or a screen that filters the light for your window. nice restaurants have them. you can still see thru them.
u can do potted trees if u dont want to plant
Hello I think the most economical way for shade is a tree a weeping willow is awesome BUT they take awhile to get the right size, you should try WALTER'S VIBURNUM (Viburnum obovatum) it's a small understory tree for partial shade. Maximum of 15ft. Evergreen with clusters of fragrant white flowers in spring, it's native to Florida. Check out http://hes.lbl.gov/hes/makingithappen/no...
