Paint color walls...green couch?

Question:I've been debating in which color I should paint my livingroom walls. I have a medium green couch & love seat. Hardwood floors (medium oak), and cranberry accents (in area rug, pillows, (lamp shades~green, gold, cranberry), etc.) Also just put in new picture window...white trim.
I think white or beige is too boring...any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Answers:
Texture! Do beige on the walls and do frottage or rag-rolling with a post-it note yellow. (it won't be that yellow once mixed with glaze) This will provide a nice creamy backdrop to your color scheme.

It's not as boring as plain beige walls but it won't upset your color balance with the green couch, & gold & cranberry acents.

You won't find a satisfactory answer on here. As an interior designer I can virtually guarentee that.

Short of actually being able to see what you're referring to and know what kind of space (size, shape, relation to other rooms, style) you have, (ESPECIALLY) lighting you have, furniture you have (medium green encompasses several thousand shades of green in both warm and cool tones. Is it modern furniture, traditional furniture?). you see what I'm getting at? You'll never be satisfied with any answer here. Because one simply can't convey what it is with text.

That aside,
You can definitely do white or beige or even grey. Then punch it up with really bright accent accesories (look at it this way, if you get sick of how your room looks, you don't have to repaint, just get new accesories). If you're really unsure about colour, get a bunch of paint samples and tape them to the wall and look at them in different lights at different times of day.

A few rules of thumb:
-Dark colours will make a space feel smaller than it is. (If you're partial to them, paint one accent wall dark and leave the rest much lighter).
-Don't pick a colour while you're at the paintstore. The lighting is not the same... 90% of the time you'll be unsatisfied with the results.
-If you're a smoker, avoid really light colours, they'll get fairly gross and yellow, fairly quickly.

Have fun!
