Well, what do you like? Are you a girly-girl that wants all pink and lace? I personally love blue and brown together. Those are very contemporary colors. That's the other thing, do you like contemporary, modern...? Its all up to you my dear. Start looking around at what room sets already come together and expand from there. Wal-Mart, Target, Lowe's... they all have some nice starter ideas. Have fun!
The only way I can get inspired is to watch HGTV (Home and Garden television) on the weekends. They have some of the neatest to wackiest ideas there are! Color combinations are my downfall, so I watch and see which they use and which of them appeal to me, I don't want to do all that work and then NOT like it.
I would sit down and write out on a page of notebook paper, 2 columns:
What I like:
Blue
French Furniture
What I Don't Like:
Hot Pink
Flower Prints
That will at least get you started.

Designing your own personal space is a fantastic way to create your haven from the hectic world! Just remember. you don;t have to spend tons of money to get the look you are going for. Okay I'm redecorating my room too and I'm a young teen. So, go to www.PBTeen.com they have THE BEST room stuff it's a little expencive but the rooms are so cute. P.S- I just got my bedding from there I got the bubble bedding =] but just one last thing go crazy have fun but think things over before you just start painting.I hope this helped.
