How do you refinish or polish an antique mantle clock?

Question:it is very old more than a hundered years

Answers:
Do not attempt to change the finish on the clock. You will ruin the patina (natural aged finish). thus deminishing its value. The best bet is to take it to a reputable clock shop to see if they can help.

don't !!
ask a furniture restoration company 1st
The only thing I would use on it would be Guardsman Furniture Polish...it has NO oils in it..cannot cause build-up...VERY good for wood furniture. I would NOT, however, try to refinish it...take it to a professional for that...
(I know that Guardsman can now be found at Lowe's Home Improvement)...
Try using Old English furniture scratch cover. About 6 bucks a bottle does wonders for wood.
