What kind of curtains help to weatherproof a house?

Question:My house is sooooooo cold. Our windows are the problem we know, but we don't have the money to replace them. So weatherproofing curtains would work ... What am I looking for exactly?

thanks!

Answers:
I believe they are called drapes. It's a heavier curtain with a white panel on the back side. I've seen them at Jc Penney

drapes...the kind with the vinyl/plastic backing--but what works really well is egg-crate foam cut just a little larger than the window if you have that kind of window with the 3-4 inch sill so you can sorta seal the edges...or just some small nails if you dont... and then you can use any curtain.
i had the same problem.
