How do you remove vertical blinds? I want to remove the whole contraption.?

As garrow says...look under the main bar the blinds are attached too..there are some little tabs, usually 3 to 4 2 being by the ends of course..you simplytake a flat screw driver and depress them from underneath..the whole bar and blinds will come down..then you unscrew the brackets from the wall..heres a link that shows one type..some are a little different but have similar clips in the same area..

Guide bar at top detaches from wall brackets. Bar probably just snaps loose from brackets and whole assembly will come down. Then you can unscrew brackets from wall if you want to
there should be a way that the whole thing is screwed into the wall at both ends. Unscrew that and take it off and htere you go ..
