Which paint is better? Behr or Sherwin Williams?
Question:I've heard that Behr Paint is better but I absolutely love some of the colors that I have found at Sherwin Williams. Just wondering which brand works better? Home Depot has Behr paint on sale this weekend.

What's better a Chevy or a Ford? It's the same scenario. If you ask 10 painters you will probably get 10 different answers to what paint brand they like best. I paint for a living and found most paints are similar. Price is an issue sometimes. I would suggest getting at least the middle priced paint in a specific line. You really do get what you pay for. It is usually the technique you use to paint that creates a good job. I have also found that two coats is always better then trying to put on one heavy coat to cover. How any paint can guarantee one coat coverage is beyond me. Even with years of experience I have found helpful tips in do- it- yourself books on painting.
I NEVER use Behr.
I personally guaranty Benjamin Moore.
Behr goes on smoother, and seems to cover a lot better.
Take the color you like of the Sherwin Williams to home depot and have them custom mix the behr paint to match.
I've used both and I'll take Behr any day over Sherwin Williams. It costs about $10 less per gallon and goes on much easier. Every time I use Sherwin Williams paint I get roller spatter all over me and anything not covered in plastic. Behr paint rolls on with almost no spatter. Home Depot has computer color matching and can mix ANY color you want.
I also am a painting contractor and use benjamin moore paints almost exclusivley..as for which is better between behr and s.w. ...it is a toss up...as I do not think either are that great...I guess I would lean ot S.W. , if you have a lowes nearby take your color there and get it made in Valspar paint as it is a very good paint .
I just had my home painted professionally & the contractors used to always use Benjamin Moore (they painted another house of mine in the past) but they now use Sherwin Williams & spoke poorly of the Behr because it is not as good of quality paint. I personally used Behr in my bathroom but if you want a good quality and something durable so that you can wash the walls and look nice for years buy the better quality (sherwin williams). Eggshell or satin paints are good washable paint and a nice sheen. Good luck.. :)
