How far do you hang a chandelier from a table top?

Question:

Answers:
basically this could be personal preference. I would say about eye level when you are standing. If your table was not there you would hit your head on the fixture. That is a pretty good rule of thumb. You should have approximately two feet of clearance from the table top to the bottom of the fixture.

It depends on the size of the chandelier and the room. If it is just your standard dining room table and light fixture then just below the ceiling and no lower than above the head of a standing adult should work.
How high above the table should the chandelier hang?
You should at least see to that the chandelier is hanging as far up so everyone can see each other across the table.
Typically, no more than 36 inches...but get someone to hold it for you and eyeball it over the table too, then mark the link on the chain for yourself.
