i'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with btab about large storage containers. the trend nowadays is to use big ziplock bags for storage. they're heavy duty and i think they're called storage bags. the advantage is they're not hard thus they require less space as the plastic can fold where necessary

you can't be organised in everything because most things in life are unexpected and you can't be organised for things which you don't know are gonna happen. this is my answer but i just think that i misunderstood your question.
if you mean how do i organise everything in my garden or something then you should put up labels and signs so you know where everything is.
