Question for Tilers?
Question:Hi there I am collecting some wall tiles tomorrow for the tiler that will be tiling my bathroom
he has said i need to get 11 metres of wall tiles AND
9 metres of L/M
what does this mean??
cant ask him as he isn;t answering his fone (he left answer phone message on our machine)
Answers:
He's asking for 11 square metres for the wall tile, and presumably you're getting a bullnose tile for the very top of the tiled area - the bullnose must be the 9 metres. We usually order bullnose by the piece (ie: 14 pieces) rather than the linear foot (or metre). I would definitely ask whoever you're buying the tile from anyway. And keep calling the tiler to see if you can reach him.
If you do reach him, ask if about the grout. You'll probably want to pick out your own grout color to complement the tile. He may provide the thin set mortar or adhesive, but you should check about that as well.
In addition, we always seal our tile jobs, especially in bathrooms, to help keep moisture out and prevent the grout from molding, mildewing, or just rotting away. I've seen some ugly mold problems caused by cracks in grout lines that were not sealed.
the place where you get the tile can prob tell you exactly what this means.
get a new tilier ..the tiles have to be got and messured in "square meters" for a start ..9mts of L/M ..???think that is something rude ...
my husband a tiler, never heard of it ,but thinks it might be the beading for the corners and around bath and sink,
i would imagine it's 11 square metres of tiles, sounds about right for an average bathroom, as for LM i'm not sure but did he ask for any adhesive and grout he will need these.
