Need decorating ideas for an out door party?
Question:we are hoping to hold a party that is semi-formal. n we have the party colour themed to black n white. the place we got to hold the party is a really large area with a HUGE tree.ide of it. ne ideas wld be welcome. the area is like a square with the tree occupyn the side of it. otherwise the place is barren n the party is at night. hope u cld help

take some rod iron decorative plant hangers and put those around the edge of the square <you can get them at any home garden store> then several yards of wire. tie the wire around the tree and lead it to each of the plant hangers. Hang small lanterns from the wire, as well as white lanterns from the plant hangers <either real ones or even electic ones, if you do electric, you can add some white fabric down the wire to add a more formal look, just drape and wrap it loosely along the wires>. Place your tables on the outside of the square one side for beverages, one side for food, make sure they are covered with white tablecloths. Or you can also do drinks on both the edges and then a row down the center leading to the tree for food if its a large party. Rent some white benches to place around the base of the tree, and other random places for seating and more of the plant hooks with lanterns neer benches away from the main square.
I would put lamps on the tree.
Start with lighting, tiki torches are nice, as well as hanging lights. since the party is in the evening. Depending on your theme, music is nice too. have many tables, l;it with citronella candles, (for bugs)flowers or wine glasses on each table.keeping candles lit, or torches lit will help guide the way...and prevent the bugs from ruining your party. have fun and good luck
