What is better for window replacement -awning or casements?
Question:We have a big living room window we have to replace and my wife wants casements for air flow. I want awnings because it repels water if it rains and if the wind gust when they are open, it wont bother them.
Can anyone give me their experiences with both?
Answers:
Casements allow more airflow and are easier to clean. You can clean both sides of the window from inside the house. Awnings also get dirtier, especially if you leave them open when it's raining.
casements usally are cheaper. It all depends on the look of the house.
Either will work, Stay away from the cheap mechanical built style ( the cheapest window) vinyl windows, get welded type from a name brand window and stay away from a sales man that wants you to sign a contract on the spot.
