What is the best type hardwood for a floor?
Question:
Answers:
All hardwoods are excellent flooring. what you have to take into consideration is the following. your lifestyle; children, pets etc...
Aesthetics, lighter colored floors will give extra expanse to the room. Darker colored floors will encapsulate the room or make it appear smaller. However this can be avoided if there are large windows providing natural light. the other concern is with large windows you are subseptable to uv rays which may result in a fading effect on darker floors.
My husband has worked in custom cabinets and home for about 15 years now. What I hear is bamboo. And it's beautiful.
I agree with bamboo. It's very beautiful.
Bamboo... but expensive. worth every penny...
Oak, maple, teak etc. Bamboo is durable but as far as being beautiful I think that's kind of a stretch. It looks like fake wood.
It all depends on your lifestyle. My mom had hardwood in her home, and it got very messed up due to the fact that kids were constantly running everywhere. I am about to install hardwood floors, and I am going with Bruce engineered hardwood from Lowe's. It is much prettier than laminate, and it is very durable. Check it out. It's beautiful. Also, it is not to pricey!
Real hard wood would be better, because it will last longer than engineered ones
Oak or maple.
Bamboo can be pretty but is not suitable for dry climates.
