Help me decorate!?
Question:Okay, i recently moved into a one bedroom apartment and i'm trying to get everything a little more 'homey'. From my living room you can see my kitchen and my dining room, the cabinets are a tan color and so is my kitchen table. My couch is black, so i was thinking my do like black and tan...you know to go with the tan color from the kitchen and dining room. Does that sound okay? And if not, can i get some suggestions please!?

Yes, I think black and tan is a great idea, then introduce punch of colour through your accent pieces; Art, throw pillows, fresh flowers, area rugs. This leaves you with so much option to change out only your accessories if you want to feel like you need a change in the look of the room later on.

That sounds fine, but since those are all neutral colors I'd bring in an accent color, like red or another bold color. If you can paint, maybe paint one wall the accent color. Also bring in the accent with pillows and maybe an area rug. Accessories can also really pull a room together- make sure you have a few pops of accent color in the kitchen & dining room, too, since there's so much tan there. what is u'r tables for u'r LR color.. tan as well? I think tan/black & creme would look nice. U could also use dusty purple, or off white. i think white would b 2 stark... maroon...teal if uwant 2 add a bit of color as well. u can do that mor w pillows, throws, lamps, etc
That sounds nice. What looks really great with a black and tan theme is red accents. Don't overdo the red. Just a few throw pillows, maybe a red vase and buy some red wrapping paper and wrap a few books in it. Red book covers look great. I would maybe put some tan and black pillows in with the red on the sofa. Red cannisters in the kitchen. Just a few red things to add the final touch. Don't forget a few wall pictures, a good size plant, some lamps for soft lighting, and an area rug to really cozy up the place. Good luck!
