Has anyone ever put a real tree inside a store?
Question:A contractor said we could cut down a live tree- treat it- and use it as a support for a mezzani?? Is this a good idea?

NO! Build around the tree.

Yes ... but treat it properly and well.
We knew a guy that did it in his home-made log cabin, and then he had a stair case that spiraled down around it. It was pretty cool!! He never had any problems with it that I know of. I'd think that you would have to get it in the house/store before construction was finished though, because it probably wouldn't fit through the doors. (It was a huge one he had.) And I'd search to find one that had a great shape to it, and be the right size, etc. So, as long as it fits your theme/decor'...I'd say go for it:)
