I want to redecorate my room because I do not like what my mother has done to it?
Question:For months and months, I told my mother that I wanted a pink and white room. Well, she decided to get my canary sheets as a "surprise" gift and then she gets me about, two pillows that are green, yellow, and brown. No pink in sight. Well, I am seventeen and I have my own job and I still want my pink room because I feel like it's who I am. Should I just redecorate? It's not like she spent money on the things she gave me because her job makes those type of things.

Try talking to her about it before you set out and do it yourself. Tell her what you told us... pink is who you are and that you feel that you need it in your room. She might understand, let her know that you are willing to pay for the decorating things in your room. She might be ok with it. If not just buy some things pink and start collecting over time.
ya. just go out and buy your own pink pillows. redecorate it on your own.
yea I moved into my house about three years ago and I painted my walls a light pink, and the cieling a light blue to match my bedspread. Now my taste have changed but I still want my pink room to!
I think that you should do pink wall
a black comforter
and pink sheets or white since you want pink and white
and do a Paris sort of theme.
Im in the process of redecorating and thats what I am doing. I have pictures of the Eiffel Tower and things like that. o and a zebra rug would be O so cute! lol

Yellow and pink go well togther if you work with it a little. They are both common colors of flowers that you find in nature. Maybe you can find a way to blend the pink in with the yellow, and only lose the brown pillow...that way, mom won't think you're insulting her 'gifts', and you can add more pink and white as you go, making the yellow more of an 'accent' color.
As long as your Mom doesn't mind..it is her house:)...use your own money, and decorate it the way you want to. It sounds like she had good intentions, and you could make the yellow & green work with the pink. If you paint your room pink, then find some wallpaper for one wall, or border with all of the colors in it, you'll still be able to use your accessories. (Or~If you want to get all new bedding, check on eBay, and you can find some great deals.) Maybe she just wasn't listening to what you really wanted, or didn't think you wanted it so bad, and she could get you different colors from her jobs?
You're old enough to know what you want and like though, so as long as she doesn't object, I think you should have exactly what you like:) .Especailly since you can pay for it yourself, that's very responsible for you, that you don't expect her to flip the bill:)
