I am redecorating my bathroom which has no windows. Can I have a real plant in there?
Question:Is it possible, or am I reduced to just adding a fake plant for esthetic purposes? As there is no window to the washroom, there is no natural light that reaches it.
Answers:
Get some "Lucky Bamboo"! I have the same problem, and bamboo thrives in there!
Peace Lilly's don't require a lot of light. And you could also move whatever plants you choose out of the room to get some light during the day, then move them back in.
You could also add a silk floral arrangement, with a lot of greenery in it~I have two small ones, in brass wall pocket vases, and they look really nice too.
If you have a Garden Ridge in your area, they DO have some gorgeous fake plants though, that you have to feel to "be sure":)
Good Luck!
how can a bathroom not have windows?
yes, you can! :)

here you will find pictures and info. be cautious about watering. once a month will probably be enough. be sure to leave the door open to the washroom, so the plant gets some light.
one other idea is to have a couple of plants that you can switch out...or one to put in the oom when guests are coming over.
hope this helps. :)
i think there are plants who dont need natural light..\
here is a link that might help
yes you can. you can buy cactus plant (the small ones) and put in on the basin top. be sure to take the cactus out in the sun atleast once a day and water is very little. who knows!oneday you might see the cactus bloom!
yes, as long as it does not require sunlight. You may want to put the natural sunlight like bulbs in your lights in the bathroom, that might help.
Ferns make excellant plants for a bathroom.
Ferns grow in the dense parts of woods and jungles with little light. They need little watering too.
The moisture from the shower/bath will be good for them and watering can be kept at a minimum.
They also purify the air !
Boston or Dallas Fern is just the perfect plant for the bathroom !
