What is the best type of wall paint to use?
Question:I notice a lot of different brands, some smell bad some don't. Any Options on which ones are better quality?
Answers:
I would suggest Benjamin Moore - the quality of the paint is best. If you have a dark or color saturated paint, you will not need so many coats as you would with other manufacturer's
If you use Benjamin Moore, use their Aqua Pearl 330 finish for the walls -this is a finish in between Eggshell and Satin. You will be able to clean the walls. Use the semi gloss for all of your trim.
satin
We love Olympia (available at Lowes). It goods on smooth, holds up well to washing, and there was never any odor-which really was first for us! It's the only brand we'll use now. Hope that helps!
Hands down - Benjamin Moore is the best -
top quality, bold color & extreme durability!

The pros use Dunn Edwards.
Consider the walls you're painting - walls that take a lot of washing like kitchens hold up better with semi-gloss. The drawback to semi-gloss is that all flaws in the wall are more evident so do patch and smooth first. Flat paint is the most forgiving for imperfect walls. I like Ralph Lauren paint only for the color quality. Since I paint every few years to suit the trends I don't really know about durability!
Benjiman Moore eggshell coat for normal rooms. It rocks
