Teen Room Help.?
Question:I have no idea what color to paint my room.
I don't want a bright color.
Earthy tones are nice, but my furniture is yellowish and my carpet is gray.
please help.
Answers:
You can try shades of blue/gray or green/gray. Green/gray would probably be nicer. Even a sage green i think would look nice. The gray carpeting is neutral. Best to pick a shade that goes well with the color of your furniture. Also, if you don't mind a serious color try taupe in a tone that isn't too beige or too gray but somewhere in the middle. To add color to your room to offset the more mellow wall color try nice curtains or pillows on your bed. Good luck. :)
light blue
chocolate brown and cream as a feature wall. not to sure how that would go with yellow thoe. as long as the yellow is not too bright..

I would find a nice green that you like or a dark blue.
cream
peach
light green
I would look for linens and start there. Go to www.linensandthings.com or www.bedbathandbeyond.com and look at the variety of comforters, quilts and bedspreads. Find one you like, that will match your furniture and carpet. That has always been the way I do things. and I usually come out with something original and nice.
I just painted my room light purple. it's so pretty, but that's just my preference because it's my favorite color.
paint your room your favorite color though, you can almost never go wrong with that. You could paint your furniture (unless it's fabric your talking about that's yellow ) to better match the color you choose, and gray carpet won't go against any color wall.
