Go ahead and install your doors and trim and save the carpet for last. Set the doors and trim on 1/2" blocks. Most carpet layers in Oklahoma like to tuck the carpet under the base and door jambs. If you have solid core doors a lot of the time they will have to be set on blocks or trimmed to keep them from rubbing the carpet.
Install the doors according to manufacturers instructions prior to carpet install. You do not want to run carpet under the door threshold. If necessary, you can remove the doors by pulling the hinge pins and set them aside while the carpet is installed.
NO set the doors up half inch use a piece of the base board to do this
before. carpet is the last thing you put in. You have to trim and paint still. If you want you can leave the trime up an 1/2" while you are installing the trim.
I would do this before. The doors are required before you put up your trim/molding, which is often good to have in place before the carpet is installed since the carpet will be tucked under the trim to better secure it to the carpet tacks. This worked just fine for me a few years ago.
Hang the doors first. DON`T raise the trim off the floor. The carpet layers needs the trim to space the tack strip as carpet is trimmed "up to" and Not underneath to give it the more "finished" look you both want. Most will take the door down by pulling the pins as has been suggested. Or You can. Also, if they are double doors that meet in the middle, the carpet layer will need the doors to see where the guides will go. Wood must be placed under the carpet for the guides to screw in.
Good Luck with your basement! I`m jealous (:> RT
