Has anyone ever bought wood flooring from Home Depot?
Question:Was it easy to install. I have no experience in this kindof stuff at all. Would you do it again, or pay the extra 1k or more to have someone else do it?
Answers:
Home depot sub contracts. You Never want to deal with a subcontractor with flooring, because there are many things that could go wrong and subcontractors are hard to catch up with after being paid. Almost every floor will look good immediately after being installed. But as the floor acclimates and oxidizes there will be changes and you will not know if it is a defect or the natural process of wood. I'm a flooring specialist so you can contact me via e-mail for additional info.
pay the xtra as home depot just sell and they will tell you what you want to hear to buy it and in the long run you are broke

I am a female. I bought flooring from Lowes I installed it with the help of a friend. If I can do it you probably can. I bought a miter saw, and a automatic nailer, other than those costs I paid nothing extra. It took us 6 hours to do a 12x 20 foot room. I wouldn't be afraid to do it again. I figure at the $4.00 per square ft installation charge after buying tools I saved $750. The experts might have been able to do it in a shorter time frame.
my 86 year old father in law just put some in his house
the pre-finish woods Are really good these days. He was not a carpenter. His looked good and it is easy to install even a cave man could do it
