buy some of that really inexpensive butcher-type paper from a craft store and make stencils of the an urban skyline (you know, skyscrapers and such) to put around the midline of the room.
i guess that's only a good suggestion if you're willing to throw down for some grey paint.
walmart has some current spidey posters, and fairly inexpensive frames.
good tip for you make a web on his wall using black wool using panal pins to mark the points for the web then put the wool around the nails to make a web shape
if you sew or know someone who does- you could get some of the cheaper fabrics at a walmart or sewing type of store. you could make curtains, a throw, pillows. I have made all three. it is fairly easy to do. hope this helps.
